100+ Subject Lines for Your Christmas Holiday Emails

150+ Subject Lines for Your Christmas Holiday Emails

Despite all challenges 2022 has brought upon us, the holiday season is finally here! It spreads the buzz of searching, buying, and giving among customers, and gives marketers a great opportunity to add up to the revenue.

In December, your subscribers’ inboxes are flooded with all kinds of offers more than ever. As a result, your emails might easily get overlooked and lost amidst the flood unless you do your best while creating nice email subjects for Christmas wishes.

To give you a hand of help with this hard task, I've picked up cool Christmas email subject lines from my Inbox that cought my eye for some reason: clever wording, fun language, smart play of words. Check them out and see what techniques and approaches can be applied to your holiday marketing this season.

Spread Warm Wishes

A simple holiday greeting subject line may be just the way to go with as simple and minimalistic message. Such emails aim to set the mood and spread holiday cheer rather than force into purchases. And don't think that simple means boring: less can be more.

  • Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
  • Merry Christmas from Bob Evans.
  • Shalom, ¡Feliz! and Warmest Wishes...
  • Merry Blissmas!
  • Share Christmas with your favourite people
  • Seasons greetings.
  • Merry Markdowns.

A holiday season is a busy time for everyone. People look for special and unique Christmas gift, try to come up with original greetings, figure out what to wear for a party (even if it's online), what to cook for dinner, how to decorate for Christmas and how to fit the Christmas mood this hard year. Recognize the Situation Around

There is no need to compose COVID-19 email subject lines or mention the lockdown in every email you send. People are tired of bad news and seek entertaiment and fun. However, make your customers understand you know what's going on around and how it may affect this year selebrations. Smart mentioning of current challenges will show your audience you live on the same planet.

Create Urgency

The fear of missing out, a.k.a FOMO, is an extremely useful tool when it comes to driving conversions. Just make sure your subject lines for Christmas emails don’t feel too pushy — those would hurt your business at any time of the year.

Think of Inclusive Holiday Greetings

Keep in mind that not everyone celebrates Christmas. You’re most likely to have customers from lots of different religions and backgrounds, including those with no religion. Exclusive greetings like Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Yule Blessings or Happy Kwanzaa might delight customers who actually celebrate that holiday but at the same time alienate those who don’t. Consider using inclusive neutral wishes like Happy Holidays or Season’s Greetings instead.

  • Season’s Greetings from Tiffany.
  • Season’s greeting— 30% off + free shipping.
  • Deliver Some Cheer this Holiday Season.
  • Season’s greetings: we have prepared something for you.
  • 50% off ⚡ The Season’s Greetings Flash Sale.
  • happy holidays!

Season’s Greetings from Tiffany

On the other hand, using neutral and politically correct messages can still backfire if your subscribers cling to more traditional greetings. Holiday email marketing is indeed a gamble. How to win it? Segment your contacts by preferences. For example, you could discreetly ask your subscribers to share their beliefs and greetings of choice. Another option is to track your subscribers shopping behavior and use the results to build relevant segments. This way, you’ll be able to protect yourself from sending a Merry Christmas! holiday email to customers who only buy kosher products from you.

Say No Word About Christmas

As people’s inboxes get overwhelmed with Christmas emails, they may start feeling like holidays are being shoved down their throats. A quite peculiar way to stand out during the holiday season marketing buzz is not to speak about the season at all.

Send Post-Christmas Emails

Even after Christmas is over, you can continue nurturing your customers with offers and discounts. People are keeping their eyes out for after-Christmas deals, so why not give them some?

There’s no universal strategy for Christmas email marketing campaigns. As well as there’s no one-fits-all holiday solution that would ultimately boost email opens. Remember that your competitors might have similar Christmas subject line ideas. The above examples are given just to show you a direction. Your subject lines should resonate with your brand, loyal audience, tone of voice and current offer. After you finally come up with a unique holiday greeting message, ask yourself whether you'd like to see it in your inbox and open it.
